Discover true love with Matt Friedman, a charming and indomitable accountant from St. Louis, as he arrives at the Talley home in Lebanon, Missouri in 1944. Bookish, erudite totally honest and delightfully funny, Matt has come to plead his love to Sally Talley, the family’s vulnerable and uncertain daughter who fears her family will never approve of their marriage. Matt refuses to accept Sally’s rebuffs and fears and tells her his innermost secrets, eventually learning hers in return. As they become kindred spirits, Sally awakens to the possibilities of life and the two share a union rarely found in human relationships..
